Atlanta Falcons release RB Mike Davis after one season

Davis, who is from Atlanta, tweeted: "I'm grateful for everything the falcons did for me. People in my town saw me playing, which made them feel better.

They signed him before last season, and they had planned to make him the team's top running back.

Last season, Davis had a hard time finding a rhythm and was eventually passed on the depth chart.

Last season, Davis, 29, started eight of seventeen games, running 138 times for 503 yards and three touchdowns while collecting 44 catches for 259 yards and one score.

All of those figures were down from his 2020 season with the Carolina Panthers, where he started for the first time and had 165 carries for 642 yards and six touchdowns.

Davis, the Falcons' Walter Payton Man of the Year nominee this season, has 550 career runs for 2,034 yards and 14 touchdowns while playing for the Panthers, Seattle Seahawks, San Francisco 49ers, Chicago Bears, and Falcons.

Lindstrom, the 14th overall selection in 2019, started all 17 games last season. McGary, who was drafted 31st overall in 2019, appeared in 16 games last season.
