Why is the Adilette slide a 2022 must-have?

The adilette has a '90s sportswear-inspired appearance that normal flip-flops can't match.

Adidas has released a Yeezy-inspired version to the Adilette that has generated a lot of buzz.

Instagram & Twitter sneaker accounts have been awash with  rumours about the new sandals, hinting these won't be your usual drop. It's easy to see why if you've followed sneakers for a while.

The slide's cushy, elevated footbed and more closed off rubber strap draw cues from the often-imitated, never reproduced Yeezy Slide model.

The slide's outside finish appears like a cross between a 3D-printed topographic map and kinetic sand.

Adidas' decision to make its most popular slide a fashion statement was smart. The brand features models like the Yeezy foam runner Salehe Bembury's textured pollex Crocs collab.

The slides won't be out in Australia until a date is set.

But since a June 23 release date in the U.S. has been confirmed, keep an eye on Adidas' website in the coming weeks for more information.
