Instead of re-releasing her next album, Taylor Swift releases new summer-themed merchandise.
Sincere apologies to Taylor Swift fans who were expecting new music on Friday.
While Swifties have yet to get any re-recorded songs or vault material this week, they do have one thing to anticipate: new apparel.
Swift's management account, Taylor Nation, shared an unexplained countdown on Instagram Story on Friday.
Many fans assumed that another album, maybe a re-recorded version of 1989 or Speak Now, was on the way.
Instead, the countdown was for Taylor's official store's brand-new summer-themed items, called the Swiftie Summer Collection.
Beach towels, pool floats, sunglasses, muscle shirts, drink tumblers, portable fans, fanny packs, an activity kit, and other items are among the new goods offerings.
Wearable apparel starts at $40, while accessories start at $15.
Swifties flocked to Twitter to air their concerns and shame at being hopeful for the album's release in the wake of the product drop and no word on the upcoming re-release.
